The Rick Burgess mixes.
Rick Burgess has spent three decades on Birmingham radio and a lifetime in Alabama deer woods. Rick's Mix for the season, the Burgess Blend for the growing months — both on one idea: take the blends that already work and triple the roasted peanuts.
Rick's Mix
Whole corn, roasted peanuts, and roasted soybeans with the Grip coating — three times the roasted peanuts of Triple Grip. Twice the protein and five times the fat of standard deer corn. Gravity or spin, trough or ground.
Contains peanuts. Not for human consumption.
For the growing months
Burgess Blend
The grow-side partner — three times the roasted peanuts of Grip Grower, with protein pellets in the blend for the months when antlers are being built instead of hunted. Protein-forward and peanut-heavy.
Run them the way the year runs: the Burgess Blend from shed drop through velvet, Rick's Mix from hard horn through the post-rut. Same mill, same ingredient family, same coating — split across the two jobs a feed program actually has.
Always check current state and local wildlife regulations before feeding, baiting, or placing attractants for deer.
Find it in a store.
If the nearest shelf is a long drive, or your store ran out mid-season, email camphouse@feedyourdeer.com and tell us where you're hunting. We'll figure out how to get feed to you. Phone works too: 205-335-8778.
